What Songs Are On Your Workout Playlist?

Ever since I got a glimpse of Michelle Obama’s delightfully funky workout playlist, I’ve been curious to know what’s queued up on the iPods of everybody at the gym. And since most people I know are always in the market for new workout music, I thought it would be good to share our favorite songs to sweat to. “Bloodbuzz Ohio” – The National (Good for running long distances)
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” – The Rolling Stones (This song really motivates me, I can’t tell you why.)
“Live Your Life” – T.I. feat. Rihanna (Uplifting and danceable–great beat to get your heart rate up.)
“Rhythm Is A Dancer” – SNAP! (I like to dance to this one)
“Push It” – Salt-N-Pepa (I like this one when I’m tightening and toning, especially the ass.)
“Love Like A Sunset” - Phoenix (Good for zoning out post work out)

“Help I’m Alive” – Metric (Perfect tempo for jogging.)
“I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now” – Lupe Fiasco (I listen to this when I get overwhelmed or stressed out and the only cure is a hard workout.)
“What You Waiting For?” – Gwen Stefani (If the sound of a ticking clock doesn’t get you going, I’m not sure what will.)
“Uprising” – Muse (Makes you feel like you’re leading a revolution while you’re on the elliptical.)
“Not Fair” – Lily Allen (This song always makes me smile.)
“Ali in the Jungle” – The Hours (Queue this one up at the very end of a run–it will get you to the end.)


I don’t work out, but if I did, I would listen to pop music like Britney Spears’ “Gimme More,” Beyonce’s “Run The World,” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” while I ran, and mellow stuff like Alice Coltrane’s “Journey in Satchidananda” when I do yoga.
