Next time the Avon lady comes a-calling, I’m not going to buy any nail polish from her. Avon sent the Frisky office some of their spring/summer products and I have to be honest, I was pretty disappointed with their Avon Nailwear Pro polish. (You’ve been seeing me wear it in the color Coral Reef all week in What Are We Wearing Today? photos.)

Price/Availability: $5, Shop.Avon.com

Packaging: Not too complicated! Just a nail polish bottle. The Avon web site says the brush gives “salon-quality precision.” I can confirm it’s not bad.

How To Use It: Do I really need to explain? I used two coats, plus a top coat from Essie.

Overall: I’m really disappointed. My nails chipped — even with a top coat on them — literally one day later. So I repainted the chipped nails, but they’re all still chipping away like mad. Avon’s web site claims their polish has up to 10-day wear “with normal touchups,” whatever that means. But frankly, I wear can wear an Essie or an O.P.I. polish for many, many, many days with my Essie top coat on top without any chips. The level of quality is definitely not the same.  I am not disputing that the color is cute and the price is right at $5. But I would say this polish is best for a little girl/pre-teen who doesn’t really care how her nails looks. (Sorry, Avon!)

Grade: 2/5
