“Snow White and the Huntsman” is poised to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, and it owes the pre-release fanfare not only to its subject (it is Snow White, after all) but also to its key cast of bonafide eye candy: Kristen Stewart (hot), Chris Hemsworth (hotter), and Charlize Theron (hottest).
The movie doesn’t hit theaters until June 1st, but the international premieres are already underway. Last night’s world debut of the film saw both Kristen and Charlize wearing long, sheer black dresses — rumor has it the “Twilight” star and the new mom became super-tight during filming, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they planned their looks accordingly. Despite the parallel, though, the two gowns are distinctly different, and let me count the ways: Charlize’s Christian Dior Haute Couture creation is sheer, yes, but it’s also stately, fitting for someone as regal as The Theron herself, while Kristen’s Marchesa is a risk beyond risks. Amelia says it’s very “Snow White on ice,” and I’m inclined to agree. The concept is there, but the execution, particularly the transparent cobwebby crochet that’s keeping everything together, leaves me cold. In fact, the more I look at it, the more ridiculous I think it is. This also isn’t my favorite look of Charlize’s by a landslide, but I think it hits all the right notes as necessary for the occasion.
Obviously, my standing says Charlize 1, Kristen 0, but what do you think? Who wore their sheer look best — or should I ask, who is the fairest of them all?
