The Met Ball, held each year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, is Fashion with a capital F’s version of the Oscars. Okay, so no awards are given out — this year’s gala celebrated “parallels between Miuccia and the late Elsa Schiaparelli” — but the red carpet arrivals put the Academy Awards to shame. This is where Hollywood’s hottest and fashion’s finest put on some of the most glamourous, and often one-of-a-kind, garments that New York. Paris, and Milan have to offer. Sure, some of the looks may be over-the-top, the Met Ball is one night when crazy couture trumps ho-hum. Let’s look at the ladies who left us feeling meh, bleh, and straight up snorrrrrrring.
