Style Stealer: Edie Campbell At The Veuve Clicquot Launch Party
At 21 years old, Edie Campbell leads one charmed life. The doll-faced Brit may not be quite so familiar on our shores, but it seems like it may be only a matter of time before she’s ubiquitous. Vogue Italia calls her a “supermodel-prodigy” — at just 18, Edie caught the eye of Mario Testino, who cast her alongside Kate Moss in the season’s Burberry campaign, with Marc by Marc Jacobs following soon after. She’s walked for such high fashion names as Hermès, Thakoon, and Cacharel, and you may even recognize her as having closed the spring/summer Chanel couture show in Paris, which is no small feat for a girl who’s only five foot seven. It’s not only through her editorial talent that Edie has garnered attention — she has the kind of personal style, unique to the bottom line, that’s irresistible to fashion editors and tastemakers alike (hello, top of Tatler’s Best Dressed list).
Disregarding the fact that I want to steal literally everything this girl has ever worn, I’m particularly charmed by this ensemble she wore to last night’s Veuve Clicquot Season Launch Party in London. Her interesting printed blouse and slouchy shorts are perfect for spring and summer, while the long coat adds contrast with its austere cut. Edie is a leggy little grasshopper, but the proportions of her outfit are flattering for any shape or size. I’ll show you how to recreate a similar look, after the jump.
