I haven’t watched a single, solitary episode of “American Idol” this season, but nevertheless, I feel confident saying Joshua Ledet is the one to beat. But how can you possibly make that prediction, Amelia, if you haven’t seen any of the performances? you might be asking yourself. Well, I have seen one performance: Ledet’s rendition of “To Love Somebody” on last night’s episode, which was the single best performance I have ever seen on “American Idol” or any other vocal singing competition. I got chills almost immediately. The judges are with me — Jennifer Lopez even said that Ledet is one of the best vocalists of the last 50 years. And not only does he have an incredible voice, but he performs with such a genuine passion — it’s amazing to think the dude heard the song for the first time only a few days before he sang it. Amazing. Watch it above.
