I’m a girl who loves a good pair of shit-kicking boots, and yes, before you ask, I insist that they bear the name of Doc Marten. All others are mere imitations, no? I take mine black, matte, and mid top because I’m hardcore like that, but you’d be pleasantly surprised by the vast selection the brand offers. They sell their famous ball-busters in every color, texture, and style imaginable. My personal favorites, as far as switching it up goes, are the spotted Italian calf hair (to die for) and the sadly no longer available pastel pairs. I love the idea of floral Docs, but the patterns they’ve used have been too great-grandma’s nylon tablecloth for my personal preference. This is where Liberty of London comes in. The famed fabric house, who has worked on collabs with everyone from Hermes to Kate Moss for Topshop, has joined forces with the staid shoemakers on a collection of shoes that’s bound to be one of the most coveted snags for spring. The shoes hit stores (and, fingers crossed, the website) come the first of May. I definitely need a pair, or two, or all of them (ahem, the ones on the right will be mine), but tell me: would you wear the outcome of this unlikely partnership?
