I am of the mind that Mr. Fred Rogers is one of the best human beings that has ever graced this planet. I have fond memories of watching “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” as a child, and consider him partially responsible for my ability to tie my shoes and fondness for old man cardigans. So I’m very, very excited to see the documentary “Mr. Rogers & Me,” directed by Benjamin Wagner, a former MTV producer who was Mr. Rogers’ neighbor for a summer. Mr. Rogers told him to “spread the message” that “deep and simple is far more essential than shallow and complex.” Following Mr. Rogers’ death in 2003, Wagner and his brother “set out to learn more about the man himself and discover what he meant by ‘deep and simple.’” Check out the trailer above; “Mr. Rogers & Me” has a few upcoming screenings and will be released on DVD on March 20.
