Beauty Test Drive: Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour Palette

Cheek bones: all of of us have got them, but some of us need do so some heavy lifting with the makeup brushes to make ‘em visible. I’ve got the random collection of blushes, bronzers and highlighters that women can accumulate over time and I know just which ones — all different brands, in different compacts of course — work best for me. Napoleon Perdis’ Ultimate Contour Palette is a three-in-one palette that’s made packing up my makeup bag so much easier.

Price: $39,

Packaging: The Ultimate Contour Palette comes with champagne highlighter, a rosy blush and a toffee bronzer in one compact, plus a decently sized mirror. I loved how it came with a tiny map inserted inside depicting where you should put each powder for “supermodel cheekbones.” Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a tiny brush inside (like, say, Clinique palettes) so you always have to carry an extra one in your purse/makeup bag. But whatever, it’s worth it.

Formula: Each powder is shimmery and loose, so a little of each powder goes a long way and blends easily. In fact, in might even be too loose, so be careful. The effect is very subtle in that looks-like-you’re-not-wearing-makeup way.

Wear Time: I wore these these powders over foundation and they stayed put for an eight-hour workday, only requiring a slight touch-up after work for the same “BOOM! CHEEKBONES!” effect.

Overall: I loved the Ultimate Contour Palette that Napoleon Perdis sent me and will absolutely purchase it again when the palette runs out. (Which will be soon. Because I’m obsessed.)

Grade: Five out of five
