RIP Society: Lifetime Picks Up Bristol Palin’s Reality Show

Jessica Wakeman / February 29, 2012

Bristol Palin will not go gently into that good night: the country’s most famous teenage mom will be starring on a Lifetime reality show set to air later this year. “Life’s A Tripp” — as in Tripp, her toddler son with baby daddy Levi Johnston — is not the same reality show for the BIO network that Bristol filmed in Los Angeles during 2011 with her “Dancing With The Stars” co-star, Kyle Massey. That show, according to a BIO press release, would have “follow[ed] Bristol Palin’s move from Alaska to Los Angeles with her son, Tripp, to work at a small charity in need while living with her good friends Chris and Kyle Massey.” Lifetime’s 10-episode “Life’s A Tripp” stars Bristol in Alaska and will focus on her life, her siblings and (duh) her famous mama.

I say this as someone who generally enjoys Palin-watching … but aren’t the Palins as TV entertainment kind of “over”? Sarah Palin’s reality show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” was a dud and I only hear about Sarah’s talking head gig on Fox News once in a blue moon. Maybe Bristol Palin’s life as a young, single mother will prove more interesting, but she should be warned: there’s already a show called “Teen Mom” on television. [The Hollywood Reporter]
