Ricardo Tisci’s Fall 2012 menswear collection for Givenchy was dominated by a red and black palette, skirts (for dudes), leggings — and large, gaudy, and rather ostentatious nose rings. The show — with its star decals and leather jackets — had a bit of a ’90s vibe, and the nose rings certainly add to that. As New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn said, “The models all wore nose rings with dangling charms; from a distance, they looked like mustaches or, perhaps, a glaze of cocaine.” The bullring nose piercing certainly is a lot of look, and Tisci’s interpretation is a rather bold take on it. Would you ever wear one?
