Sadly — and please, get your hankies ready because this is a tearjerker — I was born with no upper lip. My bottom lip is modest, but the top lip is so thin it’s practically non-existent. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always seen lipstick as something that would only draw attention to my miniscule pout. Oh, but I dreamed about wearing it, particularly in a glamourous shade of red! I thought it was not meant to be until one day, a tube of Charlotte Ronson’s Petite Kisses lipstick in “Fabiola” landed on my desk and I thought, Oh hell, might as well give it a try. And what do you know, it looked good. It’s not that it made my thin lips look like they were torn off Angelina Jolie’s face; no, the wine stain-esque color enhanced the shape of my lips which, until then, I hadn’t realize was quite lovely. I love this lipstick so much, I wear it every day now and am convinced the color would look amazing on everyone. Get it when you buy Ronson’s limited edition “Masquerade” set from Sephora, which also comes with another of her lipsticks in a brighter pink and an eye shadow palette.
