Amongst the other notable reasons that you shouldn’t have sex with animals — it’s weird, and twisted, and gross, and wrong — add elevated risk of cancer to the list. A new study found that men who engaged in bestiality at some point in their lives were twice as likely to get penile cancer and reported an overall higher incidence of STDs. The study conducted with men in rural Brazil between the ages of 18 and 80, found that about 35 percent of them reported having sex with animals likes mares, cows, pigs, and chickens ranging from monthly to daily. What!?

“We think that the intense and long-term SWA [sex with animals] practice could produce micro-traumas in the human penile tissue … The genital mucus membranes of animals could have different characteristics from human genitalia, and the animals’ secretions are probably different from human fluids … non-human secretions would be toxic for us,” the lead researcher explained. I had no idea that SWA was such a big issue. But apparently it is. And not just in third world countries. “SWA is not a sexual behavior limited only for poor rural populations,” he warned. A sexual behavior study found that 36 percent of animal f**kers live in big cities. Researchers want us to know that zoophilia can be hazardous to your health. Duly, duly noted. [Live Science]
