“All My Children” Is Dunzo

Talk about a long run. “All My Children” has been airing for more than 40 years and launched the careers of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kelly Ripa, Christian Slater, Josh Duhamel, Susan Lucci and, how can we forget, Danielle Staub, who had a bit part on the show in 2001. Sadly, the show came to an end today. So, how did the writers decide to tie things up? With a cliffhanger. In fact, a cliffhanger that paid homage to “Dallas.” The series ended with the show’s main characters at the Chandler house. J.R. was the only one missing—he was pissed because he’d lost his business and because his wife left him for a lesbian. (Oh, soap operas). Then we see him outside the house with a gun. Then there is a shot. Then it faded to black. But fans shouldn’t fear, the mystery of who got shot will likely be solved. The show is very likely to become an online series with a smaller cast.
