Why Ryan Gosling Brought Eva Mendes, Blake Lively And Kat Dennings To Disneyland

When most woman read today that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes had been spotted holding hands in Adventure Park at Disneyland, and later snuggling while watching a water show in Tomorrowland, they got very depressed. But since I do not quite understand the Gosling worship, another thought crossed my mind: wow, Ryan sure seems to bring a lot of ladies to Disneyland. What’s up with that?

After a jump, a review of the depths of Ryan’s Disneyland obsession:

  • In August of 2009, a random person tweeted that he had run into Ryan and Kat Dennings of “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” at Disneyland. Which was interesting, because Kat’s Twitter feed implied that she was there with someone pretty special. “Got kidnapped to Disneyland today,” she wrote. “My eyes were closed until a big flashing Mickey balloon was in front of my face. Best surprise ever.” [Perez Hilton]

  • In October of 2010, Ryan headed to Disneyland with Blake Lively. It’s a little hard to tell how long they were in the park, but the two stopped in to the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor circa 12:30 a.m. It could actually have been Disneyland that brought these two together in the first place. Blake later told Marie Claire magazine that she goes to Disneyland at least twice a week. After she and Ryan stopped hanging out, she took Leonardo DiCaprio to the penny arcade there. • A month later, Ryan brought a group of kids to Disneyland. To celebrate his 30th birthday. Awww. [Just Jared]
  • Soon after, Ryan shared one reason for his Disneyland obsession with GQ. “I loved the idea that Walt Disney had this dream of a place and then made it a reality,” he said. “It’s the same way I felt when I saw ‘Blue Velvet.’ It’s so clearly one person’s singular dream. The fact that somebody believed in their idea so much to make it a reality … I want to be that kind of person.” [E! Online]
  • Which brings us to his maybe-date with Eva, his co-star in “The Place Beyond The Pines.” The two wore sort of matching blue caps and were seen on Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and the “Toy Story” Mania ride, as well as sharing cotton candy. “They always walked very closely, holding hands and their arms touching side-by-side,” a source squealed. [People]
  • And finally, the smoking bullet of Ryan’s Disney fixation. This month Ryan talked to Esquire about his experience on “The New Mickey Mouse Club,” which he was on with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera. (See the photo above.) The story’s reporter brought him to Coney Island and he revealed, “I went through puberty in a theme park. I’m grateful. That place was a landscape to me. I had adventures every day. Backstage at Disney World, there are stories. Mickey Mouse with his head off, drinking coffee on break. Pirates on the phone. Ghosts in line for food. It just made me see things.” [Esquire]
