Two students at the University of Sydney (yes, that’s in Australia, people) are staging “Kanye: The Musical.” The hour-long piece premieres on September 5th and will follow Kanye West‘s rise from a beat writer for Jay-Z to becoming his Watch the Throne collaborator, with more than a few slips along the way. “I’m a big Kanye fan,” Phillip Roser said of his new show, in which he will play Kanye himself. Other characters include Kanye’s mom, Marc Jacobs, and “Spooky Dracula.” “I thought that a musical in his honor would be a lot of fun to put on. I really just meant the show to be something fun for my friends to see and I’m pretty excited by all the attention it’s been getting.” I predict that when Kanye gets wind of this, he’ll want to make a million few revisions. And then bring it to Broadway with himself in the lead role. [LA Times]Want to contact the writer of this post? {encode=”kate@thefrisky.com” title=”Email her”}!
