I’ve had many years now — I’m not going to divulge exactly how many because it makes me feel old — to reflect on my college experience. I studied acting at NYU, which was thrilling, heartbreaking, complicated, and expensive all rolled into one. Overall, I don’t regret my choice of college or major, but if only I knew then what I know now, I would have done a few things differently. But as a mentor of mine once told me, “The worst thing about being of college age is that you don’t know what you don’t know.” How right she was.
