Mildred Baena, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Former Mistress, Gives Her First Interview

It was only a matter of time before Mildred “Patty” Baena, the woman suspected of carrying Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child, talked to the press. She has given her first interview to an unusual source, the UK’s Hello magazine. In the article, Mildred explains that she didn’t know right off the bat that her 13-year-old son, Joseph, was Arnold’s son. “It was as Joseph grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered. It became more apparent as time went on,” she said.

So how did she break the news to Joseph? She had her mother tell him. His reaction? “Cool!”

In the story, Baena sheds some light about why this fact came out now. “Last summer, I brought Joseph over to the house. Until then, he hadn’t been around very much,” she explained. “After that, people in the house started whispering about how much they looked like each other.”

This got Maria Shriver curious. “She would say things like, ‘I’m here if you need to talk,'” said Baena. “I sensed something was up. I have so much love and respect for Maria. Finally, she asked point blank.”

According to Baena, this conversation went much better than you’d expect. “I just broke down. I dropped to my knees and I was crying, saying that yes he was and I was so sorry,” Baena said. “[Maria] was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn’t Arnie’s fault, that it takes two. Since I was retiring soon, I said I would pack and leave right away but Maria said to stay until after the holidays.”

Still, even though Shriver handled the situation with kindness, Baena says she doesn’t like the idea of being a homewrecker. “[Arnold is] a good man and I know he’s suffering too. He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out.”

My first thought on seeing that Baena had talked to Hello was, I wonder how much they paid her. Hope it padded Joseph’s college fund! But Baena swears to TMZ that she didn’t receive money for the interview. Apparently it ended up in the British magazine because Baena had a friendship with a freelance reporter there.

What do you think of Baena’s interview?
