Faye Dunaway plays the real-life actress Joan Crawford in the film, which is based on a memoir of the same name written by Crawford’s adopted daughter Christina. Christina alleged in the book — and thus the movie — that Crawford was, in a word, psycho. And Mother’s Day is for psycho moms too.
