“The Voice” Teams Have Been Picked

Us Frisky ladies are getting pretty into “The Voice,” thanks to the fact that it’s all about the singing and not about image, like “American Idol” can be. For the past two weeks , Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine have been busily assembling their 8-person teams that will battle it out for the next few weeks. The way it worked was simple—a singer belted out a song as the four listened with their backs turned. If a team leader pressed their red button, they’d turn around and that person would be on their team. If more than one of them turned around, the singer could choose the person’s whose team they were most pumped to join. (Duh. Cee-Lo!) If no one pressed their button, the singer was out.

Christina says things got pretty heated when more than one team leader wanted a singer. “We definitely fought for certain contestants,” she said. “If [we] turn our chairs around at the same time, then we become on the hot seat. And there has been some pretty heated debates about who gets the person on their team. It’s pretty addicting thus far!”

Above, see the first images of the four teams. We’re rooting for Christina since her team contains two of our three favorites—Frenchie Davis and Beverly McClellan.

So what’s up next on the show? The team leaders will be bringing in friends to mentor their singers. Christina is bringing singer-songwriter Sia Furler; Cee-Lo went with singer Monica; Blake picked Reba McEntire; and Adam tapped Maroon 5’s music director, Adam Blackstone. Fun!

Meanwhile, Christina is loving being the only female team leader on the show. “I think I have bring a prop or something on set because they need a few slaps on the hand a few times,” she said. “They keep me laughing a lot! I feel like a schoolteacher in a classroom full of naughty boys.”
