This just in: leggings are a direct threat to our figures. In fact, they may be to blame for making us overweight and out of shape. Easy, breezy, and stylish, YES. Good for our bodies, NO. Physiotherapist, Sammy Margo, warns about the hidden dangers of leggings after the jump.
[Leggings] hold in and support the quadriceps, buttocks and core muscles … As a result, the muscles are allowed to relax and switch off, so when we reveal our bodies for the first time as summer approaches, they are not as svelte or firm as they otherwise would be. [In addition] leggings hide the bits of our bodies we don’t like, such as the cellulite on our legs or our “muffin top”, so we are able to ignore the problem and we are less motivated to exercise these parts.
Oh my god! This news is terrifying! I had no idea I had to exercise if I wanted to keep my body in shape. Come to think of it, I’m completely unaware of what my body looks like under these leggings that I wear 24/7. I will take them off immediately and find out what’s going on down there. And then I’ll change into my pajamas, which I’m sure are way better for staying in shape. Everyone, burn your leggings. Save yourself before it’s too late. [Daily Mail]
