I have some truly, truly, truly outrageous news. My new favorite network, The Hub, will start airing reruns of “Jem and the Holograms” on May 31. “Jem” was hands down my favorite cartoon of the ’80s, and I guess in many ways was the precursor to “Hannah Montana.” I distinctly remember the joy of racing home after school to watch owner of Starlight Music, Jerrica Benton, transform herself (thank you, Synergy!) into pink-haired rock star and frontwoman of the rad band, Jem and the Holograms. Honestly, my favorite part of the show was their rival band The Misfits. Heck, I was even Stormer for Halloween two years ago. I cannot wait to rewatch this series. I already have The Misfits anthem, “Welcome to the Jungle,” in my head. [EW]
