Once I got over the irritation of being made to think about fall when spring has barely started and the warm temperatures are seriously lagging behind, I took a look at what Gap has to offer for Fall 2011. My feeling is this, and perhaps I am thrown off a bit as I attempt to digest the wax-like cheese quesadilla I just ate in the Baltimore train station, but I’m overwhelmed by MEH. The collection is very, well, basic, as you might expect from the retailer, but the “special” pieces are all either things we’ve seen before or just kind of lacking in originality. Everything is completely wearable, of course, unless you’re vegan, as designer Patrick Robinson did a lot with leather, but I was hoping for more pops of color! Still, I am excited by the various pant lengths being offered — everything from wide-leg trousers to skinny capris — and am impressed by a few of the coats. I know it’s hard to think about fall when spring temps still seem to be eluding us, but keep clicking to check out the best of Gap’s Fall 2011 collection. [Fashionista]
