NYU Welcomes Professor James Franco To Their Staff

Oscar-nominated actor, performance artist, writer, aspiring film director, Yale Ph.D student, and now … college professor. James Franco does it all! New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (my alma mater and the school where Franco is working on his MFA in film production) has hired him to teach a graduate level course on adapting poetry into short films. I’m unsure what qualifies him to teach this course. Oh, wait. Now that I think about it, he did play Allen Ginsburg in “Howl” so he must be an expert on poetry! The school finds Professor Franco to be a perfect fit to teach the course. “He’s here to teach because he really knows something about directing that he can share with our students … He’s incredibly prolific, and that comes from a real work ethic – and that’s another thing to impart to our students,” said the department chair. Gotta give it to NYU’s TSOA for pushing the envelope of redonkulousness. As an undergrad, I took a course called “The Performativity of Witchcraft.” The knowledge I gained from that course was invaluable. Each month, as I write my fat student loan check, I say an incantation wishing my debt would disappear. It never works. [Film Drunk]
