Abortion Is Why There’s No Money For Social Security, Says Politician

“The Social Security system, in my opinion, is a flawed design, period. But having said that, the design would work a lot better if we had stable demographic trends … we don’t have enough workers to support the retirees. Well, a third of all the young people in America are not in America today because of abortion. … [My wife and I] have seven children, so we’re doing our part to fund the Social Security system.”

— Quick, ladies, go have some babies! Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum blames legal abortion — yes, abortion — for Social Security being such a mess. Good one, Senator. Did it ever occur to you we’d have to feed, clothe and educate all those youngsters, too? Ever consider how footing those bills might set the country back? This silliness is only slightly less entertaining than the Tennessee Kentucky senator who asked why, if women can have abortions, he can’t have a super toilet. [The Hill]
