File this under television show ideas that could go terribly wrong. ABC has given the green light to a pilot about Edgar Allan Poe. The one-hour drama, “Poe,” will portray the writer as a detective using unconventional methods to explore the macabre unsolved mysteries of Boston in the 1840s. I wonder if the show will feature his 13-year-old cousin who was also his wife? And when they say “unconventional methods” do they mean alcohol and prostitutes? If so, maybe it will be a good show.
