Behold, The CW’s ad campaign for the “Vampire Diaries,” which returns with new episodes this week. Naturally, it’s causing quite a kerfuffle since “VD” is usually short for “venereal disease.” The CW’s response to the hoopla: “VD simply stands for Vampire Diaries, and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out.” Which is actually some nice word play.
