Fashion is once again being unfriendly to short women. According to the fashion directors at the top department stores, like Lord & Taylor and Neiman Marcus, sensible, pointed-toe flats are making a return. This might have something to do with the lower hemlines or boho fashions that are popular now, or maybe some women are simply sick of sky-high heels? But this is one trend I’m completely opposed to. Why? Well, for one thing I like having a little lift — OK, a lot of lift — from a high heel. And secondly, a short person wearing pointed-toe flats runs the risk of looking like an elf. And that’s not a good look! Of course, I have nothing personally against flat shoes. Rounded-toe or almond-toe ballet flats are chic and sensible. Pointed-toe ones, not so much. How do you feel about the return of pointed-toe flats? [Refinery 29]
