Lindsay Lohan Accused Of Assaulting A Betty Ford Clinic Employee

Drama follows Lindsay Lohan everywhere she goes and the Betty Ford clinic, where she been holed up for substance abuse treatment after a stint in the clink, is no exception.

A Betty Ford employee named Dawn Holland — who has since been fired for blabbing to TMZ — claims that on Sunday night LiLo (or “Bella G.,” as she’s known in rehab) was out drinking past curfew with her roommates, refused to take a Breathalyzer test, and threw a phone at her when confronted. Holland, a chemical dependency technician, claims Lindsay and her two roommates came in at 1 a.m. on Sunday morning, which is past clinic curfew, and tried to jump a wall to get in the clinic. Security caught the three women and called Holland to perform a Breathalyzer test, she told TMZ. At first Holland said Lindsay allegedly refused to take a Breathalyzer test, pushed Holland and then went inside and called 911; when Holland picked up another phone to talk to 911, she said Lindsay ripped the phone out of her hands with so much force she got a sprain. (Holland is now being photographed in a wrist brace and claiming she’s on worker’s comp.) She swore she could smell booze on Lindsay’s breath during the incident.

In a different version of the story, however, that Holland emailed to her superiors (and supplied a copy to TMZ) six hours after the incident, Lindsay didn’t call 911 but instead called her mother, Dina Lohan. (Drama, it should be noted, follows Dina wherever she goes, too.) Mama Lohan, Holland claimed, told Lindz she didn’t have to submit to a Breathalyzer test all. It’s confusing as to what happened next: Holland says Lindsay kept saying her mom should talk to the tech, and she eventually threw the phone at Holland. But the report also says Holland had the phone up to her ear and Lindsay yanked Holland’s arm down, causing a sprain, while calling her a “c**t bitch.” The report also says Holland told Lindsay, “You know that I could press charges against you for putting your hands on me. And she replied ‘Oh, you want money.’”

In any case, a 911 call was reportedly made by someone early that morning to report “hand-to-hand battery” at Betty Ford. Lindsay is now being investigated for criminal battery.

Lindsay, naturally, tells a different story. Through her lawyer, LiLo claims Holland touched her first and that she, in fact, called 911. The lawyer declined further comment.

Lindsay has been at the Betty Ford clinic in Rancho Mirage, California, since September 28 and is supposed to stay until January 3. It would really suck if she screwed up and fell off the wagon so close to getting out.

I know it’s fashionable to hate on Lindsay for her drug and alcohol addictions, but really, I feel compassion for her. Quitting drugs and alcohol for good is really, really hard. My brother is a sober drug addict and alcoholic at the moment, but he’s been on and off the wagon many times over the years. I think Lindsay’s obnoxious and often a liar, but I also think she’s really, really sick.

Regardless of what happened that night at Betty Ford — and honestly, who knows? These various reports are so confusing, and the clinic employee should never have spoken to the media. That’s a complete violation of privacy and she obviously only did it because LiLo is a celebrity. If you seriously care about helping people kick their addictions, why would you violate a confidentiality agreement to do something that would cause an enormous amount of stress in a sick person’s life?

I, for one, do not look forward to watching this drag out in the media.
