Julie’s Favorite Things Of 2010
The blog Your It List has asked a bunch of cool tastemaker types to reveal their favorite things of 2010. They didn’t ask us for ours, but we’re going to share ‘em anyway, starting with Julie’s 2010 It List …
Favor!te Film: This past weekend I watched “The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia,” which was, perhaps, the most MIND-BLOWING film I’ve watched all year. As far as big production movies, I’m going to go with “Inception,” because it’s one of three movies I can remember seeing in the theaters this year.
Favor!te Album: As you guys probably know, I’m pretty much stuck in the ’90s, musically speaking. However, Philly band Free Energy’s debut Stuck on Nothing is pretty much amazing. Think LCD Soundsystem meets Thin Lizzy, and somehow it works.
Favor!te Designer: Alexander McQueen’s insane style and beautifully worked pieces will live forever.
Favor!te TV Show: “30 Rock,” duh.
Favor!te Book: Just Kids by Patti Smith. Ask me how many times I cried reading this. A LOT.
Favor!te Twitterer: My friend Julieanne Smolinski is the funniest woman in the world. Please follow her at @boobsradley.
Favor!te YouTube Video: Sorry, I know the kittens die. I know that this is supposed to be really depressing, but guess what? Fainting kittens is still seventeen kinds of adorable. RIP, Charlie and Spike.
What are you most excited about for 2011? New projects with friends. Traveling and adventuring more.
Who do you most want to smooch on New Year’s Eve? I’m not looking to smooch anybody at the moment. But if Joseph Gordon-Levitt were to somehow mysteriously appear, I would probably try and shove my tongue down his throat.
What do you want the most as a holiday gift? Peace? Peace and cookies? Yes, peace and cookies.
