Carine Says Au Revoir To French Vogue

Today’s big fashion news: Carine Roitfeld, super skinny French woman and editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, has just announced that she will be leaving her post after January. In the 10 years she’s held the position, Roitfeld has become a style icon in her own right, so, understandably, some are a bit shocked to see her stepping away from such a powerful position. Her reason for leaving? She says she wants to focus on personal projects and says that “it’s time to do something different.” We totally get that feeling. In an economy where people should be “thanking their lucky stars” if they have a job, we often forget about our own personal growth and desires. Obviously, Carine is in a professional and financial position that allows her the luxury to just walk away from a job, but the mentality is something to remember—everyone needs change in their lives and it’s OK to walk away from a good thing from time to time.
