Dear Wendy Updates: “Three’s Company” Responds

It’s time again for “Dear Wendy Updates,” a feature where people I’ve given advice to in the past let us know whether they followed the advice and how they’re doing today. After the jump, we hear from “Three’s Company,” a senior in college who was feeling lonely after seemingly alienating her two former roommates/friends during a rough junior year. She said she’d apologized for her actions when they lived together but one former roommate was still holding a grudge and giving the other roommate a hard time when she hung out with our letter writer. Find out how she’s doing today after the jump.

Thank you for responding to my letter. Your advice and the advice of your readers was very helpful. About six weeks after I wrote, Angela contacted me and we talked. It went fine, and we left on good terms. We still don’t hang out if we don’t have to, but at least she’s stopped giving Rachel such a hard time about seeing me and we can be civil when in the same space. I’ve taken this time to meet new people and find a new circle to surround myself with. Even though it hurt at the time and still hurts sometimes, I’m at least glad the cycle of wanting to hurt each other is over.

If you’re someone I’ve given advice to in the past, I’d love to hear from you, too. Email me at {encode=”[email protected]” title=”[email protected]”} with a link to the original post, and let me know whether you followed the advice and how you’re doing now.
