Depending on your political leanings, Election Day yesterday was either a smashing success or reason to stick your head in the oven. I’m particularly interested in women who run for office (although obviously the votes of men in Congress impact women’s lives as well), so I have been watching their races closely. I’ve rounded up 10 races with female candidates, both victories and defeats, including Christine O’Donnell, Kirsten Gillibrand, Meg Whitman, Sharron Angle, and Carly Fiornia. If you’ve seen other interesting articles about the female candidates I left out, please share them with all of us in the comments. And stay tuned tomorrow for a comprehensive roundup of sexist incidents — against both women and men — during the 2010 election. Please email me any incidents you’d like me to include at {encode=”jessica@thefrisky.com” title=”jessica@thefrisky.com”}.
