Do You Have A Toxic Relationship With Fashion Magazines?

I have loved fashion magazines since I was a teen. I love the creative editorials and the styling ideas and the designer profiles, and for some reason I continue to love fashion magazines even though the Marie Claire fiasco last week reminded me that they don’t love me back. It’s a toxic relationship, really: they tell me I’m not rich enough or pretty enough or thin enough but I just keep coming back…

In recent years fashion blogs have been able to provide tons of positive creative inspiration, and it’s easy to seek out bloggers with different backgrounds, personal styles, and body types, but there’s something special about curling up with a crisp new fashion magazine and physically marking the pages of my favorite looks and ideas. Sure, I might feel bloated and poor afterward, but somehow that experience is still worth it. What is your relationship with fashion magazines? Do you read tons of them or none of them or are you loyal to one? Are you able to draw out the good parts and ignore the bad?
