Last week, while watching reruns of “Bored to Death,” I watched Zach Galifianakis smoke a lot of pot. Or more accurately, act like he was smoking a lot of pot. But then he smoked it for real on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” Zach lit up a joint while the show was discussing Proposition 19—a bill in California that would allow people over the age of 21 to possess an ounce of marijuana. The bill, which would allow the state to regulate and tax pot, will most likely be defeated in the election tomorrow. Zach waved the joint in front of his fellow commentators faces, at which point Bill groaned, “Oh god.” In other words, it seemed pretty real. So—brilliant move by Zach? Or totally irresponsible?
