And The Prize Goes To … The Best Way To Stay Motivated To Exercise During TheWinter

Last week, we asked you to tell us how you’ll stay motivated to exercise during the colder months, in the hopes of winning “Thintervention” workout gear from Shop by Bravo. And the winner is … save_the_empire for the comment after the jump…

“Last winter was a godsend for me. I finally began to get my eating and working out under control, and since changing my habits and beginning a running regimen last November, I have lost 55 pounds, gone from a size 16/18 to a size 10/12, and am now in a normal weight for my height. I have also competed in a 5k, an 8k and a quarter marathon over the past year, and I am running my first half marathon on November 13th!

I am still ten pounds away from my initial goal weight, so staying motivated coming up to the year mark of my lifestyle overhaul is extremely important. I hate running on the treadmill, so I plan to join a running group near my house and learn to run through the cold weather. Hopefully there won’t be a repeat of ‘Snowpocalypse’ this year!

Another motivation? Knowing that bulky sweaters and jackets will hide my body, and anticipating the ‘damn girl, you look skinny!’ comments come spring when the layers come off!
