Heidi Klum totally impressed us with the elaborate sexy robot costume she’ll be rocking this year. But it’s nothing compared to her costume from 2008—when she dressed as Kali, the Hindu goddess of death and destruction. With the extra arms, blue body paint (this was pre-”Avatar,” people), and severed heads and limbs, the costume was pretty out there. And it even got the attention of Hindu religious leaders, one of whom said, “Goddess Kali is highly revered in Hinduism and she is meant to be worshiped in temples and not to be used in clubs for publicity stunts or thrown around loosely for dramatic effects.” Which to me is kind of like the police showing up to a party; it just shows that your shindig was rocking.
