Dude Looks We Love: Slouchy Beanies
If I may be so bold, I don’t think there are many things as sexy as a guy in a slouchy knit cap. Maybe Cate Blanchett’s voice. Maybe David Bowie as the Goblin King in “Labyrinth.” But that’s about it. For example, I had never really given Josh Hartnett a second look until he started showing up everywhere in a black striped beanie. Now I have to resist the urge to make out with the TV screen whenever he makes an appearance (apparently things haven’t changed much since my first celebrity crush).
I love it when men wear hats in general: fedoras, straw hats, driving caps, etc. No matter the type, a hat pulls an outfit together, and has the power to make the wearer look dapper or free-spirited or both (not even sure how that works, but it does). I love slouchy beanies in particular because they always look a bit disheveled, a bit mysterious. A beanie always seems like it was just thrown on, whether it was laid out weeks in advance by a stylist or actually just thrown on to mask a bad hair day after a night of hard partying. Either way, I’m into it.
Slouchy knit hats look great on women too, and are super trendy right now, so I encourage you to either pick one up for yourself, or have your partner or guy friend to buy one and then steal it. I plan to do all of the above. What about you? How do you feel about hats on guys?
