Russell Greenberg from Cameo by RUX has created his idea of a modern cameo. He carves resin bangles and 18-karat gold and platinum rings into 3D portraits of anyone’s profile. And all he needs is a photograph. While personalized jewelry is usually an awesome gift, these bangles are so clunky they’re ugly. And really no one is going to notice it’s someone’s profile. A large amount of craftsmanship and work goes into each of these pieces, I’m sure, but I can think of many more things to spend $350 on rather than a portrait bracelet. The rings are actually beautiful, though, and would make a meaningful wedding band, but cost $1,700 a pop. What do you think?
