The “Alien” movies are among my favorite films, and now there’s a rumor being bandied about in Hollywood and beyond that Natalie Portman may be taking on a role in an “Alien” prequel. Supposedly, she’s the actress favored by director Ridley Scott, although there’s no word out yet on who Portman might play in the sci-fi flick. Scott says the prequel will be a dark one: “The film will be really tough, really nasty. It’s the dark side of the moon.” It seems unlikely Portman would play a young Ripley, seeing as she looks nothing like Sigourney Weaver and is about a foot shorter, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
