Fall TV Guide: Vanilla Ice On A Home Makeover Show?

Here’s an answer to the question “Whatever happened to Vanilla Ice?” Apparently, after his rise and even more spectacular fall, he’s become a house flipper. He rehabbed and sold his first house 15 years ago, and has done many since then. Now the DIY Network has made a show following him on his biggest project yet—a 7,000-square-foot mansion. How did this show come about? A producer saw Vanilla Ice mention in a video that he had taken to flipping houses. They contacted him just as he bought the mansion that had been rehabbed on the show. “The house was completely gutted, like a hurricane hit it. Everything in the entire house was gone, even the carpet, which made it work perfectly for television,” he said. “I actually get in there and swing a hammer with the guys, so to speak,” he says. “It saves money, and I know what’s going on.”

As he says in the promo, “If you got a problem, yo, I’ll solve it.” Word to your mother. [NY Daily News]
