So Gap’s New Logo Is A No-Go

Earlier this week, the internet was buzzing over Gap’s new logo. And most folks weren’t happy and took to Gap’s Facebook fan page to express their displeasure over the new look. Now, Gap is backpedaling. The brand posted on its Facebook page:

“Thanks for everyone’s input on the new logo! We’ve had the same logo for 20+ years, and this is just one of the things we’re changing. We know this logo created a lot of buzz and we’re thrilled to see passionate debates unfolding! So much so we’re asking you to share your designs. We love our version, but we’d like to see other ideas. Stay tuned for details in the next few days on this crowd sourcing project.”

I’m not a person who likes change and I think the current Gap logo is iconic. Maybe Gap should put more effort into designing fresh clothes, rather than a logo, and it won’t have to remake its image to drum up sales. [Racked]
