Once upon a time, when I was about 19, I found an amazing kilt-style mini skirt on a sale rack at the mall. It was a gorgeous green plaid wool with crisp pleats and a luxurious silk lining. Somehow it looked amazing with bare legs and a tank top or black tights and a cardigan. I wore this kilt all the time, through every season, and it never looked a day over brand new. But years passed, my style evolved, and during one particularly intense closet-cleaning rampage, I threw the kilt in a Goodwill bag, and never saw it again. This was a few years ago, and I still miss that damn skirt. It has joined my New Kids on the Block hoodie, vintage riding boots, and perfectly baggy v-neck sweater on my list of Clothes That Got Away.
So tell us: What item(s) of clothing do you wish you still had? Which pieces do you think you’ll keep forever? [Vastly inferior but still fairly cute kilt available here]
