Name: Lucy Punch
Where You’ve Seen Her: “Dinner for Schmucks,”"You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” and the upcoming comedies “Bad Teacher,” with Cameron Diaz, and “A Little Bit of Heaven,” with Kate Hudson and Gael Garcia Bernal.
Find out why we’ve got our eye on her, after the jump.London born actress, Lucy Punch, wasn’t really on our radar until recently when she cracked us up as psychotic, jilted lover Darla in “Dinner for Schmucks.” We really took notice though when she replaced Nicole Kidman in Woody Allen’s new film “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.” She stole the show as free-spirited call girl Charmaine amongst seasoned actors like Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, and Josh Brolin.
Being in a Woody Allen film changed everything for her. “It’s crazy, it’s slightly surreal. I was on the phone with my mom a while ago and I was like, ‘Gael [Garcia Bernal] and Kate [Hudson], we’re just going out for a drink,’ and she was like ‘Six months ago I was talking to you and you were on your sofa in LA going, I can’t afford my gym membership!’” Punch said of her sudden rise to fame. We can’t wait to see her as Kate Hudson’s best friend in the upcoming rom-com, “A Little Bit of Heaven” and as the good teacher who will foil an evil Cameron Diaz in “Bad Teacher.” We have a feeling we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of this newcomer.
