Reem Acra Shows How An American Princess Would Dress

For her spring 2011 collection, designer Reem Acra pondered what an American princess would look like. How would she dress? Reem envisions her in pale colors, sparkles and embroidery.

“An American princess doesn’t have to deal with centuries of tradition and etiquette. She does what she wants, how she wants, where she wants, and when she wants,” said Reem in a statement about the collection. The designer envisions this unconventional princess pairing her delicate gowns with rugged leather belts and heavy pyrite and agate necklaces. She’s the type of woman that would wear pants to a black tie event and a sequined gown to a champagne breakfast.

Celebrities are the closest beings we have to royalty in the States, and Reem’s spring collection is perfect for their red carpet appearances. Keep clicking to see fabulous embroidered dresses, tulle gowns, and beautiful, well-tailored pants. (And please excuse my amateur photography.)
