Last night, during a commercial break from “Bachelor Pad,” “Dancing with the Stars” unveiled its new cast members. And as we’d suspected, the new cast includes: Bristol Palin, Audrina Patridge, Brandy, Jennifer Grey, Florence Henderson, The Situation, Michael Bolton, and David Hasselhoff. The surprises? That the amazing Margaret Cho will be rumba-ing alongside them. Other than that, retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, retired basketball player Rick Fox, and actor/rapper Kyle Massey are also on the bill. To which we say, Who?
After the jump, what our favorites have to say about being cast.Bristol Palin:
“I’m approached to do a lot of things, but nothing was me … I don’t want my public life to be out there. I’ve always hated doing press … Nothing fit and this does fit. It’s right up my alley. It’s something that is family oriented, it’s positive and it’s a good competition … I’ve been asked that about 1,000 times [if I can do the show with a baby]. I’m going to be able to spend more time with Tripp. I worked an 8 to 5 job in Alaska for the last year, and this isn’t an 8 to 5 job. This will give me more time with my son.” [EW]
Jennifer Grey of “Dirty Dancing”:
“I know how to dirty dance and I don’t think that’s what we’re talking about on this show. [MTV]
Audrina Patridge of “The Hills”:
“I love all the costumes, the hair, the makeup.” [MTV]
Florence Henderson of “The Brady Bunch”:
“It’s intimidating. I want to be good and I know there are limitations. I might be the oldest chronologically, but I think that’s the only way I’m the oldest.” [MTV]
“I think this is gonna be harder than the Comedy Central Roast—I just had to sit in a chair and take it. Now I have to get out and do it. My two daughters love the show and they convinced me, ‘Dad, you gotta go for it.’” [ABC]
