Who Might Be The New Cast Members On “Saturday Night Live”?
“Saturday Night Live” is a little like The Situation’s bed: There’s always somebody rotating in and out. Last weekend Will Forte announced he won’t return for “SNL”‘s next season. Because, uh, “MacGruber” the movie was so successful or something? Yeah, whatever. At least this means some other starving comedians won’t be eating ramen noodles next year. Comedy blog The Comic’s Comic says “SNL” is actually casting to fill three roles and claims they know the lucky ducks: Paul Brittain, Vanessa Bayer and Taran Killam. After the jump, let’s find out more about these jokers … Paul Brittain: Paul teaches and performs with iO, a group that bills itself as “Chicago’s best improv comedy.” Paul also performed this summer in TBS’s Just For Laughs comedy festival in Chicago. He’s quite the looker! [Image via The Comic’s Comic]
Vanessa Bayer: Vanessa performs with a bunch of improv groups, including iO Chicago and Second City’s Touring Company and she’s playing a character called Superdawg Waitress in a forthcoming movie called “Sin Bin.” Vanessa’s also pretty hilarious as a crazy T-ball mom in this commercial for Blue Shield of California. Taran Killam: Taran Killam is a member of the Los Angeles improv troupe The Groundlings and was in the cast of “Freshman,” Arianna Huffington’s sitcom about three freshmen Congressmen which did not get picked up by a network. Even if “Freshman” never made it to the air, Taran has spent the most time on TV of the three potential new cast members with stints at “MadTV,” the “Scrubs” spin-off, and “How I Met Your Mother” (as Bluman). Will these really be “SNL”‘s newest stars? Or is this a whole lot of internet rumor-mongering hooey? Stay tuned …
