It was announced yesterday that Angelina Jolie will be portraying Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming movie adaptation of the book The Life And Opinions of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe. The book details the last two years of Marilyn’s life, as told from the perspective of her Maltese terrier Mafia, who was a present from Monroe’s friend Frank Sinatra, who’ll be played by George Clooney. Apparently, Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks were also up for the role, but for reasons beyond my comprehension, Jolie beat them out. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before ScarJo and Joan get their chance at playing Marilyn though, since there seems to be a never-ending demand for Marilyn movies.
