Frisky Reader Revealed: There’s Only One Meredith806

Hands down, the best thing about working at The Frisky is our amazing readers. We so heart all of your witty, thoughtful, and informative comments—heck, we even appreciate the mean ones. Sometimes, we can’t help but wonder about the faces behind avatars. We decided to launch a weekly column where we learn all about a Frisky reader. After the jump, meet Meredith806, one of our most prolific commenters. Please state your name, age, and location for The Friskyverse.

Surprisingly, my name is actually not Meredith. That’s my middle name. My first name is Haylie. I’m 25 years old and live somewhere in the state of Pennsylvania.

How did you find the site?

To be honest I don’t quite remember. It was probably a link from one of my other guilty pleasure sites.

What do you do all day, other than follow The Frisky, which is totally condoned?

To be technical, I am an equine massage therapist. I’m certified to work on people as well. I just like horses better. That is where most my income comes from; however, I also train and show horses for clients. I’m pretty in love with my job right now because I basically get paid to play with horses all day, and am thankfully not as affected by the economy as most.

Relationship status?

I’m engaged to my boyfriend of almost five years. I’ve just started planning the wedding and have realized I am so NOT the planner/organizer type. I’m completely overwhelmed.  These are the times I wish I had a girly older sister or mother who would just swoop in and tell me how it should be. I honestly cannot even describe how I envision the wedding. I have no idea where to begin.

What is your fave post in recent Frisky history?

I usually like any post that the commenters go wild on. It’s always fun to hear what everyone has to say. The debates or sometimes blatant arguments are also pretty entertaining.

What are your pop culture guilty pleasures?

I obviously spend way too much time on The Frisky, and not exactly pop culture, but I also waste a lot of time on College Humor. As far as TV, I don’t watch anything religiously. I’m not really home enough, but I have been known to watch “NCIS” for eight hours straight while home sick. I might also watch “Degrassi” … maybe.

Can you share your most embarrassing dating story? We always share ours. It’s only fair.

I think I’ve fared pretty well as I don’t have a multitude of stories to choose from. There was however one fateful summer in which my older male cousins came to visit for a week. Unfortunately for me, I made the stupid mistake of inviting my then boyfriend to come to the pool with us. This decision lead to me falling asleep while sunbathing and my lovely cousins untying my bathing suit bottoms leaving the first knot so it would stay together long enough for me to stand up, but not for much else. This ended in my bathing suit bottoms coming completely off while I was in mid-dive, a.k.a in midair, right in front of the boyfriend. So much for any mystery.

Who is your celebrity doppelganger?

I get some really random ones.  However, the person I get the most is Jessica Alba, which I honestly don’t see at all.

What type of skivvies do you have on right now?

White and navy blue striped boy shorts with red lace trim. I adore them.

What is your secret talent?

Umm, I can beat most guys at arm wrestling but that isn’t really a secret. I suppose most people don’t know about my artwork as I haven’t done it very recently, but I’m pretty skilled with a pencil and used to sell portraits and drawings in high school and college.

Favorite book, movie, musician or band?

I listen to a lot of music. I have a good 20,000 songs on my iPod, so clearly I like a lot of different artists. I’ll listen to anything from country to rap, but you’ll mostly find rock or alternative on my iPod.  Just a few of my favorite bands/artists are Train (although their new song Soul Sister makes me want to stab myself in the eye), Dishwalla, Bob Dylan, OneRepublic, Better than Ezra, Muse (more their older stuff), and Collective Soul. There’s really a ton. I feel like I’m being inconsiderate to all of my other favorites but I don’t want to go on for a year.

Who is your celebrity crush?

I have a hardcore girl crush on Tina Fey. I also want to have Ian Somerholder’s children. Seriously, look him up.

What’s something you hope to see more of on The Frisky?

I’m pretty happy with it. I would like to be able to use italics and such again, but I’m not going to complain.
