The Boob Tube: Must-See TV For The Week Of August 9, 2010

Hey TV, you’re so fine. You’re so fine you blow my mind. Hey, TV. Hey, TV.* This week, some fun things are happening on your small screen. Tonight, we have the premiere of “Bachelor Pad,” the show that brings together “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” faves and villains to compete for love and money. Next up, we’ve got restaurant wars on “Top Chef: D.C.” and Joe Jonas trying the acting thing on “Hot In Cleveland.” After the jump, previews plus lots more shows you’ll want to catch.

The Show: “Dating in the Dark”
Set Your DVR For: Tonight, 10 p.m. (EST), ABC
I kind of love this series where single folks are brought together to date in a pitch-black room. They bump into lots of things, awkwardly feel each other’s faces, have long talks, form infatuations, and make out. Then they see if their attraction changes when they actually see each other in the daylight.

The Showr: “Hair Battle Spectacular”
Set Your DVR For: Tuesday, 10 p.m. (EST), Oxygen
Bravo’s “Sheer Genius” has always been a snoozefest. So I’m pumped for this show that turns hairstyling up to 11 and has stylists compete in hair battles. Expect extreme hairdos full of crazy colors, extreme height, and moving parts.

The Show: “Hot in Cleveland”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 10 p.m. (EST) TV Land
Guess who guest stars on this week’s “Hot in Cleveland”? Mr. Joe Jonas. We’ll be watching to see if he can even slightly act.

The Show: “Top Chef”
Set Your DVR For: Wednesday, 9 p.m. (EST), Bravo
It’s the best episode of every season—restaurant wars!

The Roast of David Hasselhoff Sunday, August 15
Preview – Seth MacFarlane – On David Hasselhoff

Roast of David Hasselhoff It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up Comedy

The Show: “Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff”
Set Your DVR For: Sunday, 10 p.m. (EST), Comedy Central
It seems a bit to easy to roast the Hoff. But hey, it’s all in good fun.

*Many apologies for that terrible intro. For some reason, “Hey Mickey” has been in my head all day. Though I realize that is no excuse.
